International customers have started to actively inject gas into Ukrainian UGS

Given that European storages are 79.4% full, gas of international customers is already being actively injected into Ukrainian UGS.

“Currently, more than 1000 companies from 29 countries are utilizing Ukrainian UGS to store gas in the customs warehouse regime. This season, Ukraine offers its customers and partners more than 10 bcm of underground gas storage working gas volume for use,” said Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the Executive Board of Naftogaz Group.

Ukrainian UGS also offer customers competitive tariffs for the natural gas storage. In particular, the tariff policy for international partners for gas storage in Ukrainian UGS remains unchanged until the end of the withdrawal season.

“Our gas storages have sufficient capacities to inject significant volumes of gas, and customers can continue to store gas in the customs warehouse regime – without customs clearance for 3 years. This is another our advantage,” added Roman Maliutin, Acting General Director of Ukrtransgaz.

As a reminder, Ukrtransgaz became the second storage system operator in Europe to successfully pass certification in accordance with the new EU regulations.
