Ukrtransgaz completes the repayment of debts to market participants, established before unbundling

Ukrtransgaz finalizes repayment of debts to market participants produced before separation of GTS Operator of Ukraine on January 1, 2020. This is important to maintain the consistency working of GTS operators and their credibility before market participants. 

Ukrtransgaz has paid the debts for natural gas, purchased for production and technological expenses and for ensuring gas balancing until December 31, 2019, to all suppliers, except NJSC “Naftogaz Ukraine”. At the beginning of 2020, the total debt for natural gas was about UAH 14 bln. Now there is the only outstanding debt to NJSC “Naftogaz Ukraine” in the amount of UAH 10,3 bln.

Since the beginning of the current year Ukrtransgaz reduced the level of debt to market participants by UAH 500 mln or about 50% for positive non-balance of gaz. The outstanding obligations are kept before NJSC “Naftogaz Group” and the counterparties who have oncoming payables to Ukrtransgaz.

Almost all the funds provided as financial security have been returned to the customers. Currently about UAH 100 mln or more than 80% of these obligations are paid. Only obligations primarily before gas supplying companies associated with RGC Group remain outstanding. The last ones have oncoming payables to Ukrtransgaz.

The company fulfils its obligations to its partners faithfully, despite the fact that the total debt of gas market participants to Ukrtransgaz for balancing services in 2016-2019 amounts UAH 43,8 bln.

“Since the beginning of the year, Ukrtransgaz has been systematically calculated to suppliers and contractors. First of all, we pay the debts accumulated before the customers of transportation services up to the moment of separation of GTS Operator of Ukraine on January 1, 2020.
