Paweł Stańczak elected as Ukrtransgaz president
22 August 2017, Kyiv – According to the shareholder’s decision #126 of 21 August 2017, Paweł Józef Stańczak was elected as Ukrtransgaz president, Ukrtransgaz public and media relations department reports.
The decision also approves conditions of a one-year contract to be signed with the company’s president.
Paweł Stańczak is expected to assume his office as soon as all formalities are finalized. Until that date, Ukrtransgaz first vice president and board member Myroslav Khymko will remain in charge.
On 8 August 2017, Naftogaz supervisory board unanimously approved the appointment of Paweł Józef Stańczak as president of Ukrtransgaz.
Mr. Stańczak has engineering and management degrees as well as more than 25 years of experience in gas transmission, distribution and storage. With PGNiG, he was in charge of the unbundling process and the establishment of Gaz-System S.A., Poland’s independent TSO, in 2003-2004.
Born in 1963, Mr. Stańczak got his engineering degrees at Emilian Konopczyński Institute and the Warsaw University of Technology. Later, he continued his training at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). After few years received MBA diplomas from Leon Koźmiński Academy Of Entrepreneurship and Management (Warsaw) and University of Bradford.
Between 2004 and 2008, he served as a Technical Director – Member of the Board of Gaz-System, being responsible for developing and implementing investment plans, daily maintenance of the transmission system, coordinating permitting and licensing processes with relevant state regulators and authorities.
Paweł Stańczak spent the past five years with PGNiG Technologie S.A. (Krosno, Poland) in the positions of R&D Manager (2012-2014), Construction Project Manager (2014-2015), and Technical Director, Member of the Board (2016-July 2017).
