IP Budince between Ukraine and Slovakia now works in bilateral mode

4 April 2016 - PJSC Ukrtransgaz accomplished delicate negotiations with the Slovakian GTS operator Eustream, and from April 1, operators transferred IP Budince connection point in bilateral mode, which allows physical transportation of gas in both directions. Capacities to the Slovakian direction will be: firm capacity - 19 million a day, interruptible capacity - 5 million a day.

This will greatly improve the attractiveness of the Ukrainian UGS, because by this time there were no firm capacities for withdrawal from Ukraine, because the existing exit capacities are reserved for PJSC Gazprom for the implementation of existing transit contract.

European traders now have a guaranteed opportunity to storage gas in Ukraine and withdraw it from the Ukrainian UGS after the storage period.

PJSC Ukrtransgaz expects that the National Energy and Utilities regulatory Commission of Ukraine will approve tariffs for new physical and virtual capacities in the next week.
