Ukrtransgaz announces new tariffs on gas storage in underground gas storages

Ukrtransgaz launches new services on gas storage, pumping from and out underground storage facilities at the new adjusted tariffs according to the Resolution 480 of the National Commission for State Regulation in the Energy and Utilities (NEURC).

The new tariffs set the charge for the power of pumping to and out as well as working volume of gas kept in UTGs. Previous tariffs were based on the actual amount of gas pumped in/out and stored in UTGs.

The new tariff for pumping natural gas to the UTG facilities is UAH 64.4 per 1,000 cubic meters a day (VAT not included). The previous tariff –is UAH 32.9 per 1,000 cubic meters. Tariff for storage is UAH 0.172 per 1,000 cubic meters a day, before – UAH 46.2 per 1,000 cubic meters. For pumping out of UTGs the tariff is UAH 67.1 per 1,000 cubic meters a day, before it was UAH 32.9 per 1,000 cubic meters. The same tariffs would be applied to the custom warehouse services.

Changes in tariffs were made following the new Methodology for determination and calculation of tariffs for the services of storage and pumping of natural gas at the gas storage facilities with regulated access. In particular, the Methodology provides a transition from the payment for the volume of storage and pumping of natural gas to pay for booking the storage facilities.

In addition, previous tariffs were set in 2013, and since then the structure of the tariff has changed significantly: prices have increased, especially for natural gas for technological needs. Macroeconomic indicators have also changed including the official hryvnia exchange rate, the minimum wage, energy prices, etc.
