Public Joint Stock Company (PJSC) Ukrtransgaz is the leading company engaged in transmission and storage of natural gas in Ukraine. The company is 100% owned by Naftogaz of Ukraine. Ukraine’s gas transmission system transported 132 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2013, including 86 bcm for the EU and Moldova. Ukrtransgaz operates Europe's largest underground gas storage network, with total capacity of 31 bcm. Daily data on Ukrainian underground gas storage levels is available at transparency.gie.eu.


Daily statistics on gas transit flows through Ukraine can be found on the information platform of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) at transparency.entsog.eu.


Ukrtransgaz consists of 14 subsidiary units operating across Ukraine.


In 2014 Ukrtransgaz had 24,162 full-time employees.

  • natural gas delivery to domestic consumers;
  • natural gas transit to Europe via Ukraine;
  • storage of natural gas in underground storage facilities;
  • operation, reconstruction and maintenance of gas pipelines and associated facilities;
  • diagnostics, attestation and certification of the main and accessory equipment;
  • construction of high and low pressure gas pipelines and associated facilities;
  • R&D, engineering and design works for gas transmission and storage;
  • foreign economic relations.
